ChalkLearn (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information we collect

When you use ChalkLearn, we may collect:

• Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
• Session data: The tutoring sessions you create, including messages, whiteboard data, and topic selections.
• Usage data: How you interact with ChalkLearn, including pages visited and features used.
• Payment information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe processes your payment information. We do not store credit card numbers.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve the tutoring experience
• Save and restore your sessions
• Process payments and manage subscriptions
• Send important account-related communications
• Analyze usage patterns to improve ChalkLearn

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate ChalkLearn (hosting, AI processing, payment processing), and only as required to provide the service.

AI and your data

Your tutoring session content is sent to AI providers (OpenAI) to generate responses. We do not use your session data to train AI models. AI providers process your data according to their enterprise terms, which prohibit training on customer data.

Data retention

We retain your account and session data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your dashboard settings.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Our database is hosted on Neon with encryption enabled by default.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and data
• Export your session data
• Opt out of non-essential communications
